STARTERS
BREADED SEAFOOD (frito misto)
A mix of breadcrumbed seafood consisting of mussels, whitebait, butterfly prawns & other fresh fish as available served in a potato basket with salad & tartar sauce £5.50
DEVILLED KIDNEYS
A very popular dish on our breakfast menu especially amongst us ex matelots who know it affectionally as s**t on a raft. Sliced kidneys sautéed with red onions in a spicy sauce of tomato, Worcester sauce, mustard, cayenne & cream, served in a homemade Yorkshire pudding £5.25
SHREDDED SMOKED HAM HOCK PERSILLANE
A smoked ham hock cooked with herbs & spices is shredded into its jellified cooking liquor with gherkins & capers to make this terrine. Served with salad & piccalilli £4.95
ANTIPASTO PLATTER
A selection of flavoursome cured Italian meats accompanied by oil preserved peppers & olives with a crisp salad and chunky slices of charred ciabatta bread & olive oil £5.75
APPLE & WALNUT SALAD WITH STILTON ICE CREAM
Wedges of apple & walnut halves tossed in a Southwell watercress salad with a timbale of sweet creamy stilton ice cream £5.25
PEA, ROCKET & SPRING ONION SOUP
A puree of spring peas, rocket & shredded spring onions combine in this vibrantly green spicy soup served with tzatziki  & homemade bread roll £4.75

We use only fresh local fish from two local fishermen & Westcountry catch of Chickerell, so our selection is dependent on their catch and the weather conditions. Please see the chalk board for availability and choices

HANGING PERSIAN LAMB KEBAB
Lamb rump strips marinated in lemon juice, spices & mint, speared onto a double kebab griddled & served hanging over char grilled aubergine, onion and tomato. Served with a spicy sweet sauce made from the marinate spices & pomegranate molasses £16.50

MAIN COURSES
APRICOT PEAR & GINGER PORK
Pork tenderloin stuffed with a forcemeat of apricots, pears & stem ginger, wrapped in smoked streaky bacon & roasted served sliced with roasted pear wedges & a ginger & cream sauce. £15.25
CATALAN TURKEY
To the classic Catalan sofregit sauce of onion, garlic & tomatoes, we have added, paprika, chorizo, sherry, chunky peppers & tomatoes to give it more body poured over char grilled paprika seasoned turkey breast steaks topped with Manchego (Spanish sheep milk) cheese. £14.75   
JAMAICAN JERK BEEF
Steak thick slices of beef in a spicy hot marinade of spring onion, ginger, garlic, allspice, pepper, Scotch bonnet peppers & pineapple. Roasted in the oven & served with mango salsa & rice & peas. £14.95
ORIENTAL ORANGE & FIVE SPICE DUCK
A star anise, ginger & garlic flavoured confeed duck leg crisply roasted, accompanied by slices of roasted five spice & orange flavoured duck breast, served with mini duck pancake roll & oyster sauce. £15.50
HOT GAME PIE
A substantial sized pie made from a mix of game marinated in juniper, bay, thyme & port before being cooked & layered with onion in a hot water pastry pie, served with redcurrant jelly & gravy made from the marinade. £15.75

VEGETARIAN
COUNTRY PIE
A vegetarian version of the game pie, made with vegetable suet instead of lard, with a filling of chestnuts, mushrooms, vegetables & cranberries flavoured with thyme & mustard. Served with redcurrant jelly & veggie gravy. £14.25  
BAKED AUBERGINE OF ITALIAN VEGETABLES
An Aubergine shell with a filling of olive oil preserved mushrooms, & peppers flavoured with sun dried tomatoes & Italian herbs, topped with sliced courgettes drizzled with olive oil & baked. £14.25
STUFFED MUSHROOMS
For those that still like the texture of meat, a brace of breakfast mushrooms with a filling
of soya mince in an Italian style tomato garlic & mushroom sauce topped with sliced tomato coated with herbed breadcrumbs and baked in the oven. £14.25

DESSERTS
OZZIE’S IRISH CREAM BREAD & BUTTER PUDDING
Made from sweet croissants instead of bread, flavoured with an Irish cream liqueur & cream enriched egg custard. This is the one dish our customers will not allow us to take off the menu. Served with cream, or in a sea of custard. £5.50
HOMEMADE ICE CREAMS
A selection of ice creams that we make ourselves are available, as the choice varies from week to week depending on what’s good, in season or has inspired Ozzie, please ask for details. Served with a complementing glass. £4.85
STEAMED LEMON & GINGER PUDDING
It may be our spring & summer menu but we can’t not have a sponge pudding on
So a sponge pudding that’s as light as a fairies kiss, a lemon & ginger flavoured sponge topped with a sliced lemon £4.85
PORTLAND PAVLOVAS
Homemade meringue nests in the distinctive shape of the Isle of Portland with a filling of double cream & fresh fruit surrounded by a sea of fruit coulis £5.25
SPRING & SUMMER FRUIT CRÈME BRULEE
As we pass through the summer baked under the creamy vanilla flavoured custard of our crème brulee you will find the fruit of the season starting with our own grown rhubarb  berries and currants as they mature before ending with blackberries picked from the hedges of Barleycrates Lane (opposite the Bistro) finished with a topping of crunchy caramel £4.90
STRAWBERRY & CREAM CHEESECAKE WITH WHITE CHOCOLATE PARFAIT
A slice of creamy strawberry & white chocolate cheesecake served with fresh strawberries, cream & a white chocolate parfait £5.25

CHEESEBOARD
Not just cheese and biscuits, but the full works. A trio of Westcountry cheeses consisting of Somerset Brie, Dorset Blue Vinney, & mature Cheddar served with ample fruit & vegetable crudities, savoury biscuits & our own homemade pickle £6.25
