STARTERS
GOATS CHEESE CHEESECAKE WITH RED ONION JAM
A savoury cheesecake of a seeded biscuit base with a creamy goat cheese & herb topping. Served with a tangy redcurrant & red onion jam & salad garnish. £4.95
BREADED SEAFOOD (frito misto)
A mix of breadcrumbed seafood consisting of mussels, whitebait, butterfly prawns & other fresh fish as available served in a gaufrette potato basket with salad & tartar sauce. £5.25
CHAR GRILLED VEGETABLE & PROSCIUTTO OR HALOUMI ANTIPASTO
Char grilled capsicum peppers, courgette, onion, tomatoes & artichoke hearts with either prosciutto for the omnivores or warm Haloumi cheese for the vegetarians served with seasonal salad leaves, olives & olive oil.  £4.75  
SHREDDED SMOKED HAM HOCK PERSILLANE
A smoked ham hock cooked with herbs & spices is shredded into its jellified cooking liquor with gherkins, capers & parsley to make this terrine. Served with salad leaves & homemade piccalilli. £4.95
SOMERSET BRIE FILLED TOMATO
A big sweet tomato with a filling of Somerset brie and sautéed courgette, pepper & onion in a cream sauce, served with a crisp salad & mustard dressing. £4.80  
PEA, ROCKET & WATERCRESS SOUP
A puree of spring peas, spicy rocket & watercress with a hint of garlic in this vibrantly green soup served with our own made bread rolls. £4.70

VEGETARIAN
GREEK STYLE VEGGI CUTLETS & AUBERGINE TOWER
Our own made quinoa, bean & spinach cutlets flavoured with Kalamata olives, herbs & garlic that we roast & serve interleaved with slices of char grilled aubergine & tomato served with a tomato, red wine, olive & garlic sauce. £14.25
STUFFED MUSHROOMS
For those that still like the texture of meat, a brace of breakfast mushrooms with a filling
of soya mince in an Italian style tomato garlic & mushroom sauce topped with sliced tomato coated with herbed breadcrumbs and baked in the oven. £14.25
JAMAICAN SWEET POTATO CURRY
Using our own made curry spice mix (see Jamaican curried chevon below) we also make this vegetarian curry of sweet potato, kidney beans, peas, tomatoes, aubergine & onions.
Served with dirty rice on request. £13.25

SEAFOOD
We use only fresh local fish from two local fishermen & Westcountry catch of Chickerell, so our selection is dependent on their catch and the weather conditions. Please see the chalk board for availability and choices.

MAIN COURSES
TRILOGY OF PORK
Twice cooked slow roasted sage & onion stuffed belly pork with a cider & apple braised pork cheek & slices of black pudding. Served with crispy crackling and apple & a cider & onion sauce made from the braising. £14.85
CATALONIAN TURKEY
To the classic Catalan romesco sauce of ground nuts, bread, roasted tomatoes, peppers, garlic & paprika we have added chunky peppers & tomatoes to give it more body poured over char grilled paprika seasoned turkey breast steaks topped with char grilled calcots (spring onions) & a Manchego (Spanish sheep milk cheese) fritter. £14.75   
JAMAICAN CURRIED CHEVON
Chevon otherwise known as goat is the most eaten red meat in the world & has lower fat & cholesterol than lamb or beef. Jamaican curry varies from the Indian style through the use of different spices; star anise, allspice, coconut milk & Scotch bonnet peppers instead of chillies. We are also following the Jamaican tradition of adding potatoes & serving it with dirty rice on request. £14.95
CHERRY & FIVE SPICE DUCK
An orange & garlic flavoured duck leg confit crisply roasted, accompanied by slices of roasted five spice brined duck breast, served with a duck giblet pancake roll & cherries in a five spice & cherry sauce. £15.50
BUTTERNUT & MUSHROOM VEAL ROULARDE
Escalopes of veal are wrapped around a filling of spinach, butternut squash & mushrooms before being rolled in bacon & roasted. Served with a Madera & mushroom sauce.  £14.95

HANGING PERSIAN LAMB KEBAB
Lamb rump strips marinated in lemon juice, spices & mint, speared onto a double kebab griddled & served hanging over char grilled aubergine, onion and tomato. Served with a spicy sweet sauce made from the marinate spices & pomegranate molasses. £15.50

DESSERTS
OZZIE’S IRISH CREAM BREAD & BUTTER PUDDING
Made from sweet croissants instead of bread, flavoured with an Irish cream liqueur & cream enriched egg custard. This is the one dish our customers will not allow us to take off the menu. Served with cream, or in a sea of custard. £4.90
HOMEMADE ICE CREAMS
A selection of ice creams that we make ourselves are available, as the choice varies from week to week depending on what’s good, in season or has inspired Ozzie, please ask for details. Served with a complementing glass. £4.75
HONEYCOMB & CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE
Smooth and creamy vanilla cheesecake on a crunchy biscuit base filled with honeycomb nuggets and topped with crunchy chocolate honeycomb nuggets and honeycomb shards served with a bittersweet chocolate sorbet. £4.90
STEAMED LEMON & HONEY PUDDING
It may be our spring & summer menu but we can’t not have a sponge pudding on.
So a sponge pudding that’s as light as a fairies kiss, a lemon flavoured sponge sweetened with a topping of Halletts Portland honey. £4.80
PORTLAND PAVLOVAS
Homemade meringue nests in the distinctive shape of the Isle of Portland with a filling of double cream & fresh fruit surrounded by a sea of fruit coulis. £4.85
SPRING & SUMMER FRUIT CRÈME BRULEE
As we pass through the summer baked under the creamy vanilla flavoured custard of our crème brulee you will find the fruit of the season starting with our own grown rhubarb  berries and currants as they mature before ending with blackberries picked from the hedges of Barleycrates Lane (opposite the Bistro) finished with a topping of crunchy caramel £4.80

CHEESEBOARD
Not just cheese and biscuits, but the full works. A trio of Westcountry cheeses consisting of Somerset Brie, Dorset Blue Vinney, & mature Cheddar served with ample fruit & vegetable crudities, savoury biscuits & our own homemade pickle. £6.25
